FINN MBM3 mechanized mulch installation
Professional Mulch Blowing & Installation in South Metro Atlanta
ForestryWorx installs mulch with a FINN MBM3, a mechanized blower that moves material to the bed instead of carrying it there. It suits properties with a lot of mulch to place, or beds that sit away from where a truck can park.
We supply the mulch, deliver it and blow it into the beds you agree on. Landscape contractor or property manager? Go to commercial mulch blowing and subcontracting.
Every request is reviewed for material, access and site conditions before it is quoted. No prices are published online.
How mulch blowing works
Loose mulch is delivered by truck and fed through a blower. The material travels through a hose, and an operator directs it onto the bed to the depth that was agreed. The truck stays where it can park safely; the hose does the carrying.
How far the hose can reach, how fast a bed fills and whether a particular bed is workable all depend on the equipment setup and the site. We confirm those details for each project and do not promise distances or production rates in advance.
ForestryWorx has confirmed the FINN MBM3 as our blowing unit. We do not publish performance figures we have not verified.
When blowing makes sense
- Large beds or a lot of total mulch on one property
- Beds that are a long carry from the driveway or street
- Properties where wheelbarrow hauling would take days
- Repeat refreshes across a commercial site or neighborhood
A handful of small beds next to where the truck stops is often just as quick by hand. If that is your property, we will say so.
Mechanized installation advantages
- Less manual hauling
- Efficient material distribution
- Access to qualifying landscape beds away from the vehicle
- Reduced wheelbarrow handling
- Efficient installation on larger projects

What's Included in Our Mulch Blowing Service?
Scope is deliberately plain so there are no surprises. Anything outside it can be reviewed and quoted separately if it is appropriate for the job.
Standard service includes
- Mulch supply
- Mulch delivery
- Mechanized mulch installation
- Distribution across agreed landscape areas
- Normal cleanup associated with the blowing operation
Standard service does not include
- Weeding
- Bed edging
- Bed preparation
- Existing mulch removal
- Plant removal
- Shrub trimming
- Landscape redesign
Additional services may be separately quoted if appropriate. Bed preparation is not automatically bundled into mulch blowing.
How much mulch do you need?
You do not have to know your yardage to ask for a quote. Describe the beds and we will help work it out.
If you want a starting point: length times width gives square feet. One cubic yard covers roughly 108 square feet at 3 inches deep, about 160 at 2 inches. Beds that already have mulch usually only need a 1 to 2 inch refresh. Curved beds, tree rings and slopes mean a straight multiplication is only a ballpark.
Project size also affects the job: more mulch is more loads, and a bigger area favors the efficiency of blowing over hand work.
Rough yardage estimator
Measure one bed, or add beds together as square feet. This is a planning figure only, not a quote or a measured takeoff.

Landscape mulch is not forestry mulching
This page covers installing wood mulch in landscape beds. ForestryWorx also offers forestry mulching, which grinds standing brush and small trees in place to clear land. If you are reclaiming overgrown acreage, see property and acreage clearing. The two services use different equipment and are quoted separately.

Bulk material moves also run through our grapple truck material delivery and commercial hauling. For clearing work before landscaping, see property and acreage clearing. Moving rock instead? See bulk rock delivery and landscape boulder delivery.

Mulch blowing questions
What is mulch blowing?
Mulch blowing moves loose mulch from a delivery truck or a machine hopper through a hose and spreads it across landscape beds, instead of hauling it by wheelbarrow. ForestryWorx uses a FINN MBM3 for this work. Reach, speed and suitability are confirmed for each site rather than promised in advance.
Is blown mulch suitable for residential landscaping?
Yes, for many properties. It tends to make the most sense on large beds, estates, subdivision lots with long carries from the driveway, and landscape refresh projects with substantial material. A few small beds beside the driveway are often just as quick by hand, and we will tell you so.
Can you supply the mulch?
Yes. Supply is part of the standard service. Tell us a preferred type or color if you have one; availability is confirmed when we review your request.
Do you install mulch at commercial properties?
Yes. Office parks, shopping centers, apartment communities, industrial properties and large landscape beds are all reviewed. See our commercial mulch blowing page for property manager and contractor details.
Can landscaping companies subcontract mulch installation?
Yes. Landscape contractors can subcontract the mulch supply and blowing portion of a project. The commercial mulch blowing and subcontracting page explains how it works and has a contractor inquiry form.
Do you provide mulch delivery?
Yes, both as part of an installation and as a standalone bulk mulch delivery request. Delivered quantity, where the truck can stop and where material can be placed are reviewed first. Our grapple truck material delivery page covers related bulk material hauling.
Is bed preparation included?
No. Standard mulch blowing does not include weeding, bed edging, bed preparation, existing mulch removal, plant removal, shrub trimming or landscape redesign. If you need any of that, mention it and we will review whether it can be quoted separately.
How much mulch does my property need?
You do not need an exact number to ask for a quote. Multiply bed length by width to get square feet, then by the depth you want. About 108 square feet is covered at 3 inches deep per cubic yard. Beds that already hold mulch usually need a thinner top-up layer. The estimator on this page gives a rough starting figure.
What access is required?
A delivery truck needs a safe place to stop and enough overhead and ground clearance to reach it. Gates, narrow drives, soft ground, steep slopes and low branches all matter. Describe what you know and we will confirm what is workable. We do not guarantee hose distance or unrestricted access without reviewing the site.
